Mostly sunny, warm Thursday in Philadelphia region, tracking rain this weekend. Here's the weather forecast.
Sunshine and warmth will be the rule on Thursday in the Philadelphia region. A light jacket will be needed in the morning as temperatures start off a bit cool in the upper 40s.
Sunglasses and T-shirts will do fine by the afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s in the city.
Elevated fire risk in Southeastern Pennsylvania today
One downside to this weather is the increase in fire danger across parts of eastern Pennsylvania on Thursday.
With no rain in the forecast and a steady breeze with gusts of 20 to 25 mph, conditions are ripe for any fires that start to spread quickly, the National Weather Service said.
Outdoor burning is discouraged, and people should properly dispose of any potential sources that could ignite a fire, including cigarette butts.
NEXT big weather changes
High temps in the 70s continue on Friday as our NEXT big change arrives: a wet and chilly weekend. Clouds will increase on Friday before the steadiest rain arrives Saturday.
The rain will be widespread on Saturday as high temperatures drop back down into the 50s. Be sure to have your backup plans ready if you have an outdoor event planned.
Sunday is trending dry, but we'll have to watch for a few morning showers. It will remain cool with highs in the 50s and low 60s.
More rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with seasonably mild temps.
