Weather: Mixed Weather Patterns

By Geoffrey Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's a mixed weather pattern over the next several days. Rainy, sunny, cold, mild, windy, you name it!

A cold front is now approaching the Delaware Valley, and will be bringing showers through the midday. Winds will also start increasing through the day, so anticipate a very breezy afternoon. It is a very fast-moving system, which means the showers will be in and out by later this afternoon. You may even see a beautiful sunset, so photographers (especially CBS3 Weather Watchers) take note!

That gusty breeze will continue tonight and through the first half of the weekend. Sunshine will return on Friday, but the wind will be whipping! A west wind of 15-20 mph could gust as high as 35 mph. Temperatures will be falling as well, only reaching a high in the upper 50s. Saturday will feature some sun, more blustery conditions, and even chillier temperatures in the low 50s. The weekend mornings will be especially cold, waking up to upper 30s in Philly and even colder elsewhere.

But, it won't last long! A warm-up is in store through the middle of next week, with highs back in the mid to upper 60s!
