Highs in the 80s Tuesday, elevated fire risk in New Jersey, Delaware due to winds and low humidity

Warm and windy Tuesday weather with increased fire danger across the Philadelphia area

Tuesday will bring the warmest weather of the week to the Philadelphia area, with highs getting into the mid-80s — about 10-15 degrees above normal.

Expect sunny conditions in the afternoon with a gusty breeze.

Elevated fire risk Tuesday

There's an increased risk of fire danger across Delaware and portions of central and South Jersey Tuesday due to low humidity, high temperatures and gusty winds.

The National Weather Service said these conditions could "could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control."

Avoid outdoor burning and make sure to properly extinguish cigarette butts and other smoking items.

NEXT big weather changes

After a dry start to the week, much-needed rain returns on Wednesday with the possibility of a thunderstorm.

We could have more precipitation on Thursday as a front passes through.

Sunshine returns Friday, but we remain cooler than normal with highs in the 60s.
