Mostly sunny Friday in Philadelphia region, chance of rain. Here's the weather forecast.
Friday is a decent spring weather day around the Philadelphia region, but it's still below average, temperature-wise.
You'll want a sweatshirt or light jacket before heading out the door in the morning, with temperatures in the 40s.
We'll start the day with sun, and then clouds may increase in the afternoon. We can't rule out a spotty shower, but most of the day is dry. Highs will be in the upper 60s with a cool breeze.
NEXT big weather changes
There will be another chance for rain and even a thunderstorm during the day on Saturday and again on Monday.
A NEXT Weather Alert has been issued for Saturday afternoon and evening for Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, Delaware and all of South Jersey.
Our NEXT Weather team says a line of rain and storms will develop and move through the region, bringing the potential for strong winds, hail, and heavy rain. Right now, the severe risk is MARGINAL (1 out of 5).
From 4 to 9 p.m., storms will develop from west to east, starting in Chester County, upper Bucks and Montgomery County and will track east into the I-95 corridor across Delaware into New Jersey.
The good news is that Mother's Day is looking dry and warm to start, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80. There's a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, however, and rain will return Sunday night and continue into the Monday morning commute.
