Cooler, sunny Monday in Philadelphia region, quiet week ahead. Here's the weather forecast.

Cooler temps but lots of sunshine in Philadelphia, highs warm into the 70s later this week

Monday in the Philadelphia region will see mostly sunny skies now that the front that brought Easter rain has passed. We'll see a return to average temperatures this time of the year, which is highs around 60 degrees.

Breezy conditions will develop in the afternoon, with a northwest wind at 10-20 mph, with occasional higher gusts.

A warm front will bring a brief increase in afternoon clouds, with perhaps a sprinkle in the Poconos.

NEXT big weather changes

A secondary cold front passage overnight into early Tuesday morning will bring a reinforcing chill.

Tuesday afternoon will only be in the low 50s, with overnight lows Tuesday night dipping into the upper 20s and low 30s.

These freezing temperatures could cause a little damage to some of the early-season growth we have already started to see, mainly in Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware, where the growing season has started.

The good news is that the cold will be very short-lived as temperatures make their way back into the 60s Thursday and then 70s for Friday and Saturday.
