WEATHER: Fantastic Fall Forecast

By Katie Fehlinger

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It doesn't get much better than this in late October. Talk about a trade off!

In the wake of the recent dreary weather, high pressure becomes the main weather story for days in the Delaware Valley (i.e. sunshine becomes a running theme).

A few forecast highlights:

Friday still features a bit of a breeze as our latest retreating storm yields for high pressure, but it's brighter and milder as the thermometer climbs to the mid 60's Friday afternoon.

Virtually perfect weather is in store this weekend, but a VERY weak cold front crosses Saturday night into Sunday to knock our temperatures back a few degrees (68 degrees in Philadelphia Saturday, 65 on Sunday).

A fresh dome of high pressure builds back in early next week, so we keep the sunshine through at least Tuesday. In addition, we're forecasting a surge on the thermometer with a few days expected to top off in the low 70's!

Bottom line: find an excuse to make the most of it! Pick a pumpkin, check out the fall foliage, hit up a Halloween parade or a football game. Any and all outdoor plans are a go ... and certainly encouraged when we can bring you forecasts this pleasant!

Enjoy the break,

Katie
