WEATHER BLOG: Warmer Temps For Sunday

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A nice start to the weekend weather-wise makes it back to back weekends with sunshine and pleasant conditions.

High temperatures today were more typical for mid May as they surged into the lower 70s across the Delaware Valley, 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

Even though it felt warm, it has been much warmer this time of year.  The record high for today is 92 degrees set back in 1977 and Sunday's record is 89 degrees.

Sunday will be even warmer as a warm front moves through the region.  Stronger southerly winds and some sunshine will push high temperatures into the upper 70s and possibly low 80s in some locations.

Monday also remains warm and dry with highs again well above average in the upper 70s. It is mid April so you can expect brief shots of colder air at times.

The warm temperatures come to an end on Tuesday as a cold front brings rain.  Behind the front, high temperatures drop about 10 degrees below average in the lower 50s on Wednesday.
