WEATHER BLOG: Dry Heat

By Carol Erickson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The last weekend of June is on its best behavior with  high pressure keeping tight control.

Mostly sunny skies will hold for both Saturday and Sunday with low humidity and highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Looking ahead to next week, the heat and humidity return as temperatures climb into the upper 80s on Monday and the lower 90s by the middle of next week. The heat will also fuel thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday but later next week looks nice again with sunshine returning just in time for the 4th of July!

We are watching any possible low pressure development off the North Carolina coast at the end of the week. Should that happen, forecasts can change, but for now, let's enjoy summer!

Here is your weekend forecast:

Sunday – Sunny High  86.
