WEATHER BLOG: 35 MPH Is More Than A Speed Limit

By Carol Erickson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 35 miles-an-hour is also the level of our wind speeds this Saturday. The gusty west winds, kicking up following the passage of a cold front, will blow throughout the day and right through midnight. Otherwise, Saturday looks almost perfect. Expect clear skies and temperatures at the seasonal norm – 60 degrees.

We do it again on Sunday, minus the winds.

The dry weekend changes tempo come Monday. A system from the south comes up with clouds first and then rain. With luck, that rain will hold off long enough to get a dry home opening game for the Phillies 2014 season.

The heaviest rain at this point looks to come late on Monday night into the early hours on Tuesday. After the weather over the last few months, some April showers to start the work week isn't the worst weather we've faced on a Monday.

Temperatures most of the week hang around the 60 plus or minus a few degrees mark.

Play ball!! First pitch is likely to be far faster than today's gusty 35 mph wind.
