For longtime fans of pro wrestling, the Monday Night Wars era of the late 1990s is considered to be the heyday of the squared circle.
In one corner you had Vince McMahon and the WWE (then WWF). In the other was Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling (WCW). And somewhere on the ring apron was Paul Heyman's ECW, but that's a story for another day.
What casual wrestling fans may not realize is that WCW came within a whisper of putting WWE out of business.
I had an opportunity to speak with Scotty Riggs, whom many remember from his time as a member of Raven's Flock -- a wildly popular faction brought down by the backstage politics and jealousy that were all too common and played a prominent role in the company's death.
