Watch: Claude Giroux Comforts Ivan Provorov
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There's going to be some growing pains for the Flyers' 19-year-old rookie defenseman Ivan Provorov.
Last night, in the first period of the Flyers' 7-4 loss at the Blackhawks, Provorov experienced one of those moments. In just his third career NHL game, the 2015 seventh-overall pick fell skating backwards in his own zone leading to a Dennis Rasmussen goal and a 2-0 Blackhawks lead.

Provorov was visibly upset on the bench and as a captain should, Claude Giroux made sure to come over and console the young defenseman.

Provorov finished minus-5, his worst NHL game yet.
Flyers wild loss to Hawks should be lesson to Provorov (-5) . NHL speed is going to be an adjustment. Sometimes just make the safe play.

Hakstol says Provorov will bounce back and just part of the process.
