Watch: Chase Utley Taking Heat For Another Controversial Slide

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Chase Utley is turning into one of baseball's most disliked players.

Utley, who had his two-game suspension dropped for a takeout slide in last year's NL Divisional series against the Mets (fracturing the leg of Ruben Tejada), opened the season with yet another controversial slide (watch here).

This slide came in the top of the 3rd inning with the Dodgers ahead over the Padres 2-0. Utley, who reached first base after being hit by a pitch, tried to score on a Justin Turner double to left-field.

It appears Utley tried to take out Padres catcher Derek Norris, but was unable to do so. While the internet was certainly upset with his slide, Norris and the umpire seemed fine with it.

Utley, who is 37-years-old by the way, started the season batting leadoff on Monday and went 3-5 with a double, 2 RBI's, and a run scored. The Dodgers won 15-0.
