Warm Front Brings Scattered Showers Along With It

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Morning sunshine is beginning to give way to clouds, in advance of a warm front that is currently draped across central Pennsylvania. The front is also carrying with it a line of showers that will affect the Delaware Valley over the next few hours.Once they move through, skies will remain cloudy for the remainder of the day.

On the plus side, the very cold morning temperatures will steadily rise throughout the day and eventually through the overnight period, as we will be situated in the 'warm sector' between two frontal boundaries. This will allow daytime highs to surge tomorrow, despite generally overcast skies. Showers will be mainly scattered during the day on Thursday, so it won't be a total washout. However, a cold front will move through on Thursday evening, bringing with it a line of some heavier rain and even a few embedded thunderstorms.

Showers will linger on Friday as sky conditions will eventually clear, ever so slowly. Seasonable temperatures on Friday will return to below average readings, once again, by the weekend.

Don't forget, this week is Severe Weather Awareness Week for Pennsylvania! Click here for more information.
