Volunteers Prepare More Than 100,000 Meals For Families In Need

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) -- An annual United Way event saw volunteers in King of Prussia come together to pack up more than 100,000 meals.
Boxes were stacked all around as 500 volunteers worked what was part assembly line and part dance club.
Among those volunteers was Laura Rapp taking part through UGI AmeriGas. "It's exciting, live music the people, it's a whole bunch of different people which is just fun, it's a lot of fun."
This is the fourth annual United2Feed, and United Way Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey president and CEO Jim Cawley says it takes a lot of work to bring together people to pack up 189-thousand pounds of food for 7,000 families from Cape May to Pottstown.
"We spent a lot of time on this event. Last year we did 82,000 meals, this year again we're doing 105,000, so it continues to grow."
