Villanova University Security On Alert Tonight As Team Goes For National Title

VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) – Police and security will be out in force tonight on and around Villanova University to keep rowdy basketball fans in check.

Villanova University and Radnor Township Police are working hand in hand to keep revelers safe.

Debra Patch, associate director of public safety at Villanova University, says 100 of her safety and support staff will be on hand.

"We have strategically worked with Radnor Township to place our people throughout the campus and the surrounding area so that we can respond in a way that is responsive to things that are occurring as they develop."

She hopes non-students stay off campus, but knows that's unlikely to be the case.

After the Final Four win thousands flocked to Villanova, and there were several arrests.
