Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon Wore Harambe Cleats Before Eagles Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon may have lost the game, but he won the apparel battle.

McKinnon wore these pregame cleats before Sunday's game against the Eagles to honor the late gorilla Harambe, who was shot during the summer at the Cincinnati Zoo to stop him from harming a boy. The internet became obsessed with Harambe.

The Vikings honored Harambe earlier in the season as well.

In September, the NFL banned customized Harambe jerseys.

McKinnon, 24, had 43 yards on 11 carries and caught one ball for five yards, but left the game twice due to injuries. The Eagles beat the Vikings 21-10.
