Vigil Held For South Jersey Athlete Injured In Hit And Run

PENNSVILLE, N.J., (CBS) — A community came together in Pennsville, Salem County to support a student injured in a hit and run.

CBS 3 Eyewitness News was at Pennsville Memorial High School Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil.

Authorities say 17-year-old Kyle Pszenny was hit early Sunday morning on North Hook Road at Lee Avenue.

Kyle was riding his skateboard when he was struck.

"We want to thank on behalf of his dad John, his stepdad Larry, his brothers, and the rest of the family all the outreach. We are very overwhelmed and thankful for the prayers and to please continue keeping Kyle every night in your prayers," said Kyle's mother Crystal Parks.

Pszenny remains hospitalized.
