Community Gathers For Vigil To Remember Fallen Philadelphia Police Officer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Members of the community gathered for a vigil to remember fallen Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson III Wednesday night.

Officer Wilson was shot and killed inside a GameStop store in North Philadelphia on March 5th.

The video game chain GameStop is reportedly making a large donation to the family of Officer Wilson.

GameStop executives visited Fraternal Order of Police headquarters Wednesday.

"He very easily could have ducked behind a pillar, but he stayed in the gunfight and they realized that and protected their associates and they wanted to give something back," said Fraternal Order of Police President John McNesby.

GameStop is also reportedly setting up donation jars in its stores along the East Coast.

Proceeds will reportedly go to Officer Wilson's memorial fund.
