Update In Probe Of Death Of Camden County Toddler

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) -- Camden County Officials and Haddon Township Police investigating the death of a toddler say they've found no indication of forced entry at the boy's house. Investigators also found no evidence 3-year-old Brendan Creato was sexually assaulted.

Creato was discovered Tuesday, October 13 in the woods half a mile from his dad's Haddon Township apartment. He spent the night at his dad's apartment the night before. Brendan's parents are separated and D.J. Creato, his father, called police Tuesday morning. Authorities found his body three hours after the 911 call.

An autopsy came back inconclusive last week. Authorities are now waiting for toxicology results.

Eyewitness News spoke with D.J. Creato's attorney on Wednesday.

"It is as much a mystery I think to him as it is to the rest of us," attorney Richard Fuschino Jr. said.

Residents will continue to see detectives working the area where the boy's body was found, as well as his father's apartment a few blocks away, the last place Brendan was seen alive. Officials are also hoping anyone with a tip will contact them. If you have any information, you're asked to call the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-225-8400.

Services for Creato, scheduled for Thursday, will be private.
