University Of The Sciences President Resigns 

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The president of the University of the Sciences has announced her resignation as of the end of the year.

President Helen Giles-Gee became the university's 22nd president in July 2012. She led Keene State College in New Hampshire from 2005 through 2012.

Marvin Samson, chairman of the board of trustees, will become interim president until the university decides on a transition plan.

The Philadelphia university, formerly known as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, serves about 2,800 students and has programs in areas including pre-med, physical therapy to health care business and health policy.
