Unique Fundraiser Collects Bobbleheads For Local Sports Museum

DELAWARE COUNTY (CBS) -- If you're tired of looking at that bobblehead doll on your shelf, a local sports museum has a suggestion: Donate it.

It's a unique fundraiser.  The Sports Legends of Delaware County museum wants your bobbleheads. They'll be displayed during August and September, and then sold to raise money for the Museum's community programs. Museum board memeber Jim Vankoski says Pirates manager Clint Hurdle gave the collection a jump-start.

"He sent a Honus Wagner and an Andrew McCutchen and a couple others. And then Mike Scioscia sent a Mike Trout and Albert Pujols bobblehead. And then Ben Davis of the Phillies just dropped off about 10 Philadelphia Phillies bobbleheads."

You can donate bobbleheads at the museum at Radnor town hall, or at Golden Impulse Jewelry in Media, where they're being displayed. Vankoski says anyone making a donation will be entered into a drawing to have their own custom bobblehead made.
