Union Loan Leo Fernandes To New York Cosmos

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union announced a deal on Friday to send midfielder Leo Fernandes to the New York Cosmos on a season-long loan.

Fernandes, 23, was selected by the Union with the 63rd overall pick in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft. In 20 career games, Fernandes has 10 starts, two goals and one assist.

He was also loaned out twice by the Union to Harrisburg City in 2013 and 2014. Fernandes, a native of Sao Paolo, Brazil, was a four-year starter at Stony Brook University.
