Union Captain Maurice Edu Talks U.S. Open Cup Final on the Sports Zone

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's unfinished business for the Philadelphia Union.

For the second straight season, Jim Curtin's club has clawed its way into the final of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, with another chance this year to claim the first trophy in franchise history. Last year, Philadelphia fell 3 to 1 at home after Seattle's offensive depth broke a 1-1 deadlock in extra time. The Union watched Clint Dempsey and the Sounders celebrate on their home turf.

Sporting Kansas City opposes Philadelphia this time around. Coached by New Jersey native Peter Vermes, Sporting beat the Union in the 2012 semifinal and went on to win the competition that season.

Union captain Maurice Edu is coming off a groin injury and his health is a question mark for the September 30th final. He stopped by CBS 3 to discuss the looming showdown.
