Underprivileged Kids Go Shopping With The 76ers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  It's a slam dunk of a Christmas for some underprivileged kids from Chester County who went on a shopping spree Monday night with a few Philadelphia 76ers.

Alongside star player Jahlil Okafor, Sixers point guard Isaiah Canaan helped the kids spend their $200 gift card for Dick's Sporting Goods.

"It was good for them to get out here, just to be able to shop, not have to worry about any hard times and be able to have fun at the same time," Okafor said.

Okafor says he thinks he had as much fun as the kids.

"With as much as we deal with, it's like a sense of peace just coming out here, being with a bunch of kids and seeing how much fun they have," he said.

10-year-old Keith Atkins says he still can't believe he got to hang with NBA superstars and pick up some gifts for his friends and family.

"I got to buy a shirt, a soccer ball and some other stuff," Atkins explained.

The children were selected through the Believe and Achieve Foundation and their local YMCA.
