Uber Using Selfies To Protect Passengers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Uber is stepping up its security procedures to protect passengers.

It is a selfie system for drivers, so you can more reliably count on the person who picks you up being the one whose picture you see in the app.

Before each shift, drivers are required to confirm their identities with a selfie.

If the selfie does not match the photo on file, the account is temporarily locked down so Uber can investigate further.
