Uber Sees Big Spike In Ridership During SEPTA Strike

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Uber is seeing a significant increase in ridership thanks to the SEPTA strike.

Uber says there were 41 percent unique riders during the rush hours, 6-10 a.m. and 5-8 p.m., compared to last week.

Election Day Becoming A Concern As SEPTA Strike Continues

The company says more people are sharing their ride, too. Thirty-eight percent of rush hour trips took place on UberPOOL, compared to the previous week.

SEPTA Strike Leads To Regional Rail Chaos

On Monday, Uber announced the expansion of the UberPOOL coverage area to include all SEPTA stations.

SEPTA and union workers are expected to resume talks later this afternoon.
