Weather: A Short-Lived Warm-up

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Wednesday will mark the 13th 90 degree day this summer, as a typical summer time airmass returns to the Delaware Valley. Southerly winds will continue to bring in higher humidity and hotter temperatures.
A cold front will approach the region on Wednesday afternoon bringing some showers and storms.
Dew point temperatures, which measure the moisture in the atmosphere, will peak Wednesday in the low 70s.
When you walk outside, it will feel oppressive. Try to limit your time outdoors. If you exercise, make sure it is early in the morning or in the evening, the idea temperature is 75 degree. The humidity will still be a problem, making it difficult for you to cool off.

Wednesday will start off dry with hazy sunshine and highs in the low 90s, but heat indices will approach 100 degrees in many areas. Late afternoon and evening will have the best chance for some showers and a thunderstorm, as the cold front approaches.
As of now, the best chance for severe storms is to our north in New England.
Improving conditions, with lower temperatures will return during the day Thursday and Friday.
