Officials ID Three Killed In Fiery Crash On I-76

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A serious crash early this morning on the Schuylkill Expressway ended in tragedy.

A Kia sedan slammed into a barrier westbound on I-76 near Montgomery Drive, rolled over and burst into flames.

The fire department arrived to the scene and extinguished the car. When the flames were put out, three bodies were found in the vehicle. One person was rushed to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Ronald Stanley, the driver, as well as 19-year-old Jevon Smith and 25-year-old Jalin Bennett.

The Schuylkill Expressway was shut down during the early morning hours while crews worked to clear the accident -- traffic has since resumed.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
