Two Convenience Stores Robbed Along City Avenue

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Police are investigating two unrelated, early morning convenience store robberies along City Avenue in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

The first happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday when a man armed with a gun held up the Sunoco APlus mini-market at City Avenue and Conshohocken State Road in Bala Cynwyd.

Police say the suspect stole a small amount of cash from the register and then fled the scene.

Investigators were looking at the store's surveillance video to help identify the suspect.

A short time later, a man wielding a knife held up a 7-Eleven store on City Avenue near the St. Joseph's University campus in Wynnewood.

Authorities say the suspect ran off with an unspecified amount of cash.

No one was injured in either incident.

No arrests have been made.
