Tumult Continues In Pa Attorney General's Office
HARRISBURG (CBS) -- It was a wacky holiday weekend in the office of embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
The announcement Saturday morning set off a buzz: on Tuesday, Attorney General Kathleen Kane would release the much-anticipated preliminary findings of the investigation into "inappropriate" emails captured on Attorney General's Office servers.
On Monday morning, reporters were sent a reminder of the scheduled event. Then Monday afternoon, another announcement from Kane's new second-in-command, Bruce Castor: the email event was cancelled, with Castor explaining that he didn't realize the preliminary report wasn't ready for release.
Even before all this unfolded, Chuck Ardo, Kane's most recent of more than half a dozen press secretaries, announced his intention to step down, saying he can no longer in good conscience do a job he says requires him to "explain the inexplicable."
