Trump Criticism Easy To Find From GOP Candidates, But Christie, Cruz Much Quieter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- As Donald Trump continues his rise as the Republican front-runner, not all of his fellow candidates are attacking his positions.

Two of the GOP candidates, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie, have taken a less aggressive approach to Trump. Cruz has refused to say a negative word about Trump, and Christie's remarks have been critical but very low-key.

The analysis? Cruz knows that many of Trump's views are his as well, without the bombast.

Christie, who has a long-time acquaintance with Trump, is hedging his bets. If Trump falls in the future, he can pick up some of his voters.

Both are playing it safe, with Christie polling poorly nationwide but better in New Hampshire, looking for votes anywhere he can find them -- votes he will need if he's expecting a breakthrough.
