Truck Goes Up In Flames In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (CBS)--A fire engulfs a truck on Wednesday morning along the Ocean City beach.

CBS Philly's Ocean City cam captured the blaze as smoke billowed into the sky near the 5th Street Beach around 7:30 a.m.

The Ocean City Fire Department says a Public Works Department employee was operating a dump track carrying sand to an eroded section of the beach when the vehicle caught on fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and prevented any debris or material from entering the ocean.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injures were reported.
