Truck Driver Killed In Atlantic City Expressway Crash

HAMMONTON, N.J. (AP) — State Police say a truck driver died in a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway that also injured another motorist.

The accident happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes near Hammonton.

Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Williams says a tractor-trailer owned by a company in Brick Township overturned and the trailer blocked two lanes.

Williams says a Jeep Cherokee hit the trailer, injuring the driver, who was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The truck driver was trapped in the cab and died.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No names have been released.
