Police: Truck Crashed Into Central Pa. House Where Woman Was Sleeping

EAST BERLIN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in central Pennsylvania say a tractor-trailer crashed into a house just 10 feet from a sleeping woman, who escaped without injury.

State police are investigating why the tractor-trailer veered off the road near East Berlin and traveled 75 yards across a lawn Friday before ramming the house.

Police say the driver's load included nearly 5,000 pounds of plastic bottles.

The 84-year-old resident of the home was sleeping in a bedroom when the accident happened around 1:45 a.m.
