Triple Stabbing Leaves One Dead, Two Injured In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police announced that a fatal stabbing took place in Southwest Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

Officials say three men were stabbed and one died as a result. The stabbings happened on the 5600 block of Baltimore Avenue.

Police arrested the man they say is responsible for the stabbings, Ronald Stanley. Officers say they located the weapon on Stanley at the time of the arrest.

Stanley has been charged with one count of murder, and two counts each of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault and related offenses.

Authorities say two of the victims, ages 51 and 31, were in stable condition and transported to the hospital.

The third victim, identified as Nathan Ackinson, age 30, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have not released a motive at this time.
