Trial Of PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane Begins

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- The trial of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane begins today in Montgomery County as jury selection is underway.
One hundred potential jurors were brought in. Twelve of them, plus alternates, will be selected to determine the fate of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
Montgomery County judge Wendy Demchick Alloy tells the panel this trial is expected to last one week, then adding "give or take."
Jurors were given a list of potential witnesses that may be called during the trial. It included judges, employees of the attorney general's office, Philadelphia DA Seth Williams, some newspaper reporters, and some judges.
Kane is accused of leaking secret grand jury information in an effort to get back at political rivals. And she is charged with perjury, accused of lying under oath about the leak, saying she didn't know she was forbidden to reveal grand jury information, despite a notarized oath she had signed when she took office.
Her attorney calls it an honest mistake, with no intent, and therefore not perjury.
