Recorded Phone Call Of Man At Heart Of Leak Played At Kane Trial

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Testimony continues to heat up in the trial of Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane.

Kane is charged with leaking secret grand jury information then lying under oath to cover it up.

Today, prosecutors played a taped phone conversation of a man at the heart of the alleged leak, describing Kane's involvement.

The April, 2013 conversation was picked up by a wiretap in an unrelated investigation.

Political strategist and self-described friend of attorney general Kathleen Kane calls a friend – whose phone was tapped – and tells him Kane is asking him to deliver documents to a newspaper reporter.

Morrow tells the friend that Kane told him the documents were from a 2009 grand jury investigation that former state prosecutor Frank Fina had shut down.

Several of Kane's top aides have testified Kane blamed Fina for bad press, and set out to get back at him.

Morrow testified that he and Kane met before he testified before the grand jury investigating the leaks to come up with a story.

After testifying to that story, he got immunity when he realized as he puts the lie was coming unraveled.
