Suspect Wanted For Allegedly Trying To Run Over Police Officer

WILLISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Officials in Chester County have identified the driver responsible for crashing a vehicle before fleeing into the woods on Thursday afternoon.

Chester County District Attorney  Tom Hogan says that Tyrell Winchester is wanted for attempted murder and other related charges after he allegedly attempted to run over a Willistown Township police officer with a stolen vehicle.

"This suspect should be considered very dangerous," Hogan said in a statement.

The incident occurred at West Chester Pike and Delchester Road.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately. The suspect was reportedly last seen in Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County.

Eyewitness News is told it started with a traffic stop and the car that crashed, struck a police car.
