Tractor-Trailer Overturns, Spills Scrap Metal Across I-95 In Mercer County

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) -- Crews are responding to a serious accident in Lawrence Township, Mercer County.

Authorities say tractor-trailer carrying scrap metal overturned around 9 a.m. Thursday on I-95 northbound at Exit 7.

The metal was scattered across the highway, causing major traffic delays.

LATEST TRAFFIC

CBS 3 is told the driver was taken to the hospital.

No other vehicles were involved.

Chopper 3 over the scene showed traffic backed up for miles.

Crews have since pushed the metal to the side and are expected to open two lanes momentarily.
