Top Senate Republican Gets Behind Internet Gaming In Pa.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As state lawmakers grapple with a mountain of issues in the run up the budget deadline at the end of the month, it appears another proposal will be added to the long list: internet gaming.
It's already an open question as to how lawmakers and Governor Wolf will resolve the governor's desire for higher income and sales taxes, lower property taxes, and a new tax on natural gas extraction… and legislative leaders' push for liquor privatization and public employee pension reform.
Now the top Republican in the Senate has joined with several other members in announcing the intention to introduce a bill that would make changes to the state's gaming law. Those changes would include allowing existing casinos to offer internet gaming to patrons who've established an internet gaming account and are in Pennsylvania while playing online.
The bill being drafted would also allow most Pennsylvania casinos to put a limited number of slot machines at what are termed "non-primary and ancillary locations".
