Gary Papa Father's Day Run

The event is a 5K run and 1-mile fun walk designed to raise awareness about Prostate Cancer. It's intended to raise money for education and detection by the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Last year thousands came out. It's a Father's Day activity with a cause.

Juneteenth In Historic Germantown

Historic Germantown will have a free day of programs on Saturday, celebrating the 146th anniversary of Juneteenth, June 19, 1865. The celebration honors the day the last American slaves were told of their Emancipation. The community festival begins with the Freedom Walk on Germantown Avenue leading up to a day of family-friendly events and educational activities teaching visitors about the history of slavery and abolitionists.
