Opera Philadelphia is in its 39th season and will feature Argentinean Composer Osvaldo Golijov. The show "Ainadamar" is a melting pot of music styles and history with Spanish, Jewish and Arabic incorporated. It can be described as a dreamlike play with everything from bull fighting and bravado to the artists' struggle for love and free expression. This opera will be performed in Spanish with English subtitles, making for a beautiful and special evening for those who really love the arts.

"Other Desert Cities" is the story of a novelist who returns home after being away for over six years to celebrate the holidays with her parents. She is about to publish a memoir that will focus on the family's personal history, letting many skeletons out of the closet. The book also brings up the differences in beliefs of the both conservative and liberal family members. "Other Desert Cities" is told as an unfolding family mystery and was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play is also from the creators of the TV show "Brothers and Sisters."
