Too Much Time Spent In Front Of The Monitor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There are classic studies that have been available for almost two decades which look at kids watching too much TV.

Studies have shown that when children watch more than 2 hours of TV a day it can actually have a negative impact on their learning, attitude, and even emotions.

Similar reports have looked at video games and other forms of online entertainment with similar results.

That is not to say TV and video games must be harmful. Television is just one part of the overall day. But the study of so-called time-in-front-of-the-monitor needs to be expanded to hand held devices and the wide array of tools that are out there.
