PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf stopped in Philadelphia Thursday afternoon to help unveil a new economic development project for one of Philadelphia's most popular neighborhoods.

A $76 million community center is coming to Chinatown on 10th and Vine Streets.

"It's going to provide almost 200,000 square feet to meet a large variety of needs. Including retail space, modern office space, multi-use recreational, and event program space," said Wolf.

Governor Wolf says the commonwealth is investing $1.3 million into the project.

"It's also going to provide safe and usable space for key services and businesses that have been needed in this neighborhood for years," he said.

Wolf says the project will bring in 500 construction jobs, at least 480 spin-off jobs, 159 full-time jobs in the building, and additional indirect full-time jobs.

Ground breaking on the project is set to take place in the next few months and construction is estimated to take about two years.
