Today Marks Voter Registration Deadline For Pennsylvania Primary

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- With nominees for governor and other offices to be decided, Monday is the deadline to register to vote in May's Pennsylvania primary.

If you are registering to vote for the first time in Pennsylvania, or have changed your address or party affiliation, your application must be postmarked today or delivered to your county board of elections by the close of business today.

To vote in the May 20th primary for candidates of a major political party, you must be registered with that party affiliation. And you must be a resident of the district in which you intend to vote for at least 30 days before the primary. Matthew Keeler, a spokesman for the Department of State, says you get can a form at votespa.com.

"It also has information on where you can go to drop off your form," Keeler says, "where is a phone number to contact a county election official – all that good stuff."
