Three Teens Injured In Separate Shootings In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating two overnight shootings just blocks apart in South Philadelphia that left three teens wounded.

The first shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of South Street.

Police say there was an argument between a group of males when someone pulled a handgun and opened fire. Two boys, 16 and 17, were shots in the legs.

Less than an hour-and-a-half later, gunfire rang out nearby at 9th and Bainbridge Streets in the city's Bella Vista neighborhood.

In that incident, police say a 19-year-old man was also shot in the leg.

All three teens were taken to Jefferson University Hospital. The 16-year-old was listed in critical condition. The 17-year-old and 19-year-old were both listed in stable condition.

There was no initial word on what sparked the shootings or if the two were related.

So far, no arrests have been made.
