Thousands Still Without Power Across Region After Nor'easters
BENSALEM (CBS) -- Homeowner Ronnie Sims spent his Friday afternoon cutting tree branches from his front yard.
"When the storm stopped, I didn't know if a big branch was going to come down and hit me," said Sims.
Clean up continues in Bensalem. Neighbors survey the drama scene, like the downed signs and trees on Kasmir Avenue near Meeting Road.
Across Bucks County, some electric customers are still in the dark after a snowstorm hit the region Wednesday. It was the second nor'easter in just five days.
"They were turned back on like two and a half hours later and they came back on at 6:30 p.m.," said Sims. "Which we were lucky for that. I thought we were gonna be out for a couple of days again."
"We just were cold," said Sim's neighbor Carol Fankhouser. Fankhouser lost money because of the past two storms. The Bensalem native who lived at her house on Kasmir Avenue since 1977 works at home as a bookkeeper.
"It's been very difficult because we don't have gas on the street, so when you lose your electric, you don't have heat or hot water," said Fankhouser.
The Red Cross closed its shelter in Bucks County on Friday after determining that most of the power had been restored.
"I hope we don't get no more of this weather. I don't like the cold, they keep saying the spring is around the corner but what corner," said Sims."
A third snowstorm is expected to hit the same area on Monday.
