Thousands Of Delegates Head Home After DNC

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Thousands of delegates in town for the Democratic National Convention are heading home today. And many are taking a positive impression of our city with them.

Friendly Philadelphians? Believe it. The delegates we talked with kept talking about how friendly everyone here was.

Delegate Jay Parmley of South Carolina says,"I've seen the Liberty Bell and that's a great thing. And I've been in Independence Hall and that's wonderful. But it's really meeting some of the local business owners who rolled out the red carpet for everyone."

For delegate Joni Gutierrez of New Mexico, a simple sign made the difference.

"We walked by a church, an on the marquee it said, "Welcome DNC delegates.' On the church! I was so touched I took a picture and sent it back to my good Catholic friends in New Mexico!"
