The Sixers Drop One To The Nets, 88-70

NEW YORK (AP) — Mason Plumlee scored a season-high 18 points and had 10 rebounds, and the Brooklyn Nets broke open a close game in the fourth quarter to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 88-70 on Friday night.

Joe Johnson and Alan Anderson each had 12 points for the Nets.

Robert Covington had 20 points for the 76ers, an NBA-worst 2-20. Michael Carter-Williams added 14 points and nine assists.

The Nets entered the fourth quarter with a 63-60 lead.

However, the 76ers did not score again until Covington hit a 3-pointer with 6:56 left. The Nets opened the period on a 10-0 run and increased it to 18 on newcomer Darius Morris' dunk with three seconds remaining.
