The Kimmel Center's 'Solstice In The City'

By Molly Daly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On June 21st, the Kimmel Center marks the longest day of the year with Solstice in the City.

The Kimmel Center's Jay Wahl says it's a great way to celebrate summer's start.

"We've got a lot of different bands, we're gonna have places to hang out, we'll have a DJ, Jose Garces has a kitchen in our building, so there'll be really great nibbles and drinks. We'll have jazz -- we have some new works by local jazz artists premiering. The band Real Estate is going to headline our evening. Then, to close -- the final thing -- we have this amazing drum performance by a band Transe Express," Wahl explains.

The Kimmel celebrates Solstice in the City from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are $30 and are available at the box office or at www.kimmelcenter.org.
